Tennis has shaped me into someone who doesn’t give up easily. The game has pushed me to be more resilient and hardworking.  I think of the ball in front of me, not the point behind me. Every time I play, I’m reminded that there are no shortcuts and I have to do my best and keep my composure no matter who I play.

NUMBERS & NOTES

As a freshman, I’ve learned the importance of time management and responsibility, balancing my academic commitments with extracurriculars. I’ve developed a strong passion for my classes, particularly within my magnet school for law, where I am deepening my knowledge in the legal field. One of the highlights of my high school experience so far has been my involvement in tennis, which has become my greatest passion.

Though our team is still growing and many players are beginners, we’ve formed a close-knit, family-like bond. I am honored to have earned the first position on varsity, and I take my leadership role seriously. As team captain, I encourage my teammates to always put forth their best effort, fostering both individual improvement and team spirit.

Looking ahead, I am excited to pursue a career combining my love for tennis with my interest in law. I plan to study pre-law in college, while continuing to play tennis at the collegiate level. My experiences in both areas have taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and leadership, and I am eager to contribute these skills to a college tennis program while furthering my academic and athletic goals.

Welcome to My Journey!

In 2021, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, I picked up a tennis racket for the first time. What started as a simple way to get outdoors and try something new quickly turned into one of my greatest passions. While many players begin at a young age, my journey into tennis has been different. I’ve had to make up for lost time with determination, grit, and a relentless work ethic. Every time I step on the court, I pour my heart into the game, knowing that success is built on hard work and perseverance.

Through tennis, I’ve not only found a sport I love, but a community of like-minded individuals who share the same drive and passion. I’ve had the privilege of attending elite tennis camps at UNT and Texas A&M, where I’ve had the chance to train with talented players and learn from exceptional coaches. These experiences have been invaluable, expanding my skills and deepening my love for the game.

Tennis has shaped me in ways I never expected. It’s taught me resilience and the importance of persistence, both in competition and in life. I’ve learned to focus on the ball in front of me, never dwelling on past mistakes or missed opportunities. Every match is a new challenge, and each time I step onto the court, I remind myself that there are no shortcuts. Success is earned through hard work, dedication, and composure, no matter the opponent.

Tennis has made me not only a better athlete, but a more focused and determined individual. The lessons I’ve learned on the court—how to overcome setbacks, stay disciplined, and keep pushing forward—have shaped who I am both on and off the court. As I look to continue my journey in tennis at the collegiate level, I’m excited about the opportunity to bring my passion, resilience, and commitment to a team that shares my drive for excellence.
