Grandfather's Early Influence: Introduced Jordan to tennis through family outings, focusing on fun, exercise, and later providing personalized lessons. They would watch professional tennis together and discuss techniques, helping Jordan develop a deep connection to the sport.
-
Coach Bennett's Mentorship: Helped Jordan understand the strategic, mental aspects of tennis. Bennett taught Jordan the importance of ball placement over raw power, encouraging thoughtful play and readiness for any situation on the court.
-
Family and College Aspirations: Jordan's family emphasizes the importance of higher education. College is seen as a chance to expand knowledge, build connections outside the community, and grow both academically and athletically.
Jordan Jacobs' tennis journey began with family outings to the courts, where his granddad nurtured his passion for the sport. Inspired by players like Nick Kyrgios, he started taking tennis lessons during the summer of his freshman year to sharpen his skills and learn the game the right way.

Last year, Jordan participated in the Combine, where he faced top-tier players and received coaching from visiting professionals. Despite initial intimidation, he grew from the experience, leading his team to regionals and earning All-Conference honors. His dedication extends beyond the court, as he balances his athletic commitments with a strong academic focus, earning Student-Athlete of the Week recognition.

NUMBERS & NOTES
In high school, I've truly enjoyed meeting new people, building friendships, and forming strong bonds with my peers. I’ve always had a passion for talking sports, whether with other youth or adults, and I love surprising people when I tell them I play tennis—a sport that isn’t very big in my county. Despite that, I’ve managed to excel in both tennis and my academics, and it’s been a source of pride that both continue to get people talking. I've learned not only from my coaches but also from my teammates and opponents. Watching others has taught me patience and how to play the game to the best of my ability.

As I look ahead to college, I’m eager to expand my knowledge in different areas. While I’m excited to take my tennis game to the next level, I’m also passionate about studying engineering. I’m looking forward to meeting new people with similar interests and embracing all the opportunities that college has to offer. I’m optimistic about what I can contribute and excited to see how I’ll grow in the next chapter of my life.

Tennis has been a meaningful part of my life, shaped by a few key influences who have helped me grow, both on and off the court. First and foremost, my grandfather introduced me to tennis as a fun family activity, but it quickly evolved into something more. We would watch professional matches together, discussing shot placement, power, and strategy. His guidance has always been a source of motivation for me. I’m incredibly grateful to him for not only exposing me to the game but also recognizing my potential early on and nurturing it with patience and encouragement.

Another person who’s played a big role in my development is Coach Bennett. He brings a different perspective, helping me realize that tennis is just as much a mental game as a physical one. His insight taught me how to think ahead, anticipate my opponent’s moves, and understand the balance between power and precision. He helped me realize that while I have a lot of power, it’s not always about brute strength—sometimes, it’s about finesse and being prepared for whatever comes your way. His guidance continues to challenge me to play smarter and more efficiently.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my journey in both tennis and community service.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of participating in a variety of community activities that have not only helped others but have also enriched my own personal growth. One of the most memorable experiences took place during the summer of 2024 when Coach Bennett hosted a three-day tennis event for underprivileged youth. Initially, I expected to be just another participant, but to my surprise and honor, Coach Bennett asked me to assist him. Together, we spoke with the kids about control—not just on the court, but in life. Watching them engage with the fundamentals of tennis was heartwarming, and their enthusiasm reminded me of the joy the sport brings to others. One parent, in particular, was so impressed that she requested I work with her daughter to further her tennis journey. Working with her has been a rewarding experience, and it has also helped me refine my own skills.

Beyond that event, I’ve also been fortunate to contribute to a tennis camp hosted by my high school team, where I got to work alongside peers and coaches to share my love for the game with others. One of my proudest moments came when I worked with adults in Abilities Tennis, where we taught adults with disabilities the ins and outs of tennis. It was a humbling experience, teaching me the power of patience and persistence, while also reinforcing my belief that tennis is truly a sport for everyone. READ MORE >>>

Looking ahead, college represents an exciting new chapter for me. It’s more than just the opportunity to elevate my tennis game to the next level—college is a gateway to broadening my horizons, meeting new people, and learning from diverse experiences. I’m eager to step into a world where I can exchange knowledge about not only tennis but also life, school, and future aspirations. College will give me the chance to grow as a player and as a person, and I’m ready for the journey ahead.
As a team player, I believe everyone brings something valuable to the table. I pride myself on my adaptability and flexibility, which help me embrace any changes or challenges that may come my way. Whether it’s listening to my coach for new strategies or collaborating with my teammates, communication is key for me. I’m always open to feedback and eager to share ideas that benefit the team. With a positive attitude, I know I can uplift those around me—I understand the energy we put out affects the whole team, and I strive to be a source of motivation and encouragement.
I believe in promoting a supportive and collaborative environment, where everyone can work toward being their best individually and as a team. With my passion for the game, my dedication to improvement, and my strong team-first mentality, I’m excited about what the future holds and look forward to making a meaningful impact both on and off the court.

Outside of tennis, I’ve been active in Beta Club, participating in several events that are close to my heart. One memorable project was before Christmas break, when we worked with students with learning disabilities to create ornaments. It was more than just a craft project—it was an opportunity to connect with these students and make their holiday season a little brighter. Another Beta Club initiative involved packing non-perishable food for the BackPack Pals program, ensuring that students who may not have access to food over the holidays would still have something to eat. It was a simple act, but one that reminded me of how small gestures can make a big difference in someone’s life.
Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to speak at my church on youth Sunday. My topic, "Did You See My Match," connected my love of tennis to everyday life. I helped those unfamiliar with the sport see how the rules, techniques, and discipline involved in tennis can be applied to life’s challenges. It was a rewarding moment to share my passion for the game in a way that resonated with others on a deeper level.

Through all these experiences, I’ve grown not only as an athlete but as a person. My involvement in tennis and community service has taught me the importance of empathy, kindness, and perseverance. Whether on the court or off, I strive to uplift those around me and to lead by example. I believe in the value of hard work, and I’m committed to making a positive impact wherever I go. Thank you again for taking the time to get to know me—I’m excited for what lies ahead!
