MILES'

I discovered tennis through a summer camp and joined the Sutton Middle School team in 6th grade, playing through 8th grade. I also played on North Atlanta High School’s JV team as an 8th grader. Tennis has taught me focus, discipline, and the value of dedication and commitment. It’s helping me become more intentional in my approach, learning from my mistakes to continually improve. Every game is a chance to grow, and the sport keeps me both physically fit and mentally sharp.

NUMBERS & NOTES

What I enjoy most about high school tennis is the thrill of competition and the pride of representing my school. As a 9th grader, I’m excited about the journey ahead, both academically and athletically. With a few years to plan for college, my current focus is on honing my skills and pushing myself to make the varsity team. Each match and practice is a step closer to becoming the player I aspire to be, and I’m motivated to make every moment count.

MilesR-6.jpg

My name is Miles, and I was introduced to tennis through a summer camp that sparked my love for the sport. In 6th grade, I tried out for the Sutton Middle School tennis team, made it, and played all through middle school. By 8th grade, I earned a spot on the North Atlanta High School JV team, where I got a taste of high school competition. Now, as a freshman at North Atlanta High School, I'm proud to be part of a school with a rich tradition of academic and athletic excellence, a culture where I’m thriving both on and off the court.

Tennis Mentorship & Attributes

Throughout my tennis journey, I've been incredibly fortunate to work with some outstanding coaches who have not only shaped my game but also inspired me to keep pushing my limits. Each coach has contributed to my development, helping me refine my skills and deepen my love for the sport.

In the summer of 2022, I trained at the South Fulton Tennis Center with Sam Kennedy and his dedicated staff. Their guidance helped me build a strong foundation and introduced me to competitive team tennis with SACTA, where I played from 2022 through 2023. This team experience was invaluable, teaching me the importance of camaraderie, strategy, and resilience on the court.

Tennis has taught me to be focused, disciplined, and committed, qualities that carry over into my studies, where I currently maintain straight A's. I have a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math, and I love how my school encourages both academic and athletic pursuits. Tennis challenges me to be intentional and reflective, always pushing myself to improve, and I see every game as a valuable learning experience. It also keeps me fit and fuels my determination to keep advancing in the sport.

Beyond academics and athletics, I believe in giving back to my community. Volunteering with the Atlanta Food Bank is one of my favorite ways to do this, and I feel a deep sense of purpose helping those in need. My coaches have described me as a quick learner and a natural athlete who grasps tennis fundamentals with ease, and I work hard to make the most of my strengths both in sports and in service. I’m excited to see how my time at North Atlanta High School will continue to shape my future, both on the court and in the classroom, as I work toward making a positive impact on my community.

MILES RAMSEUR

The following summers of 2023 and 2024 were pivotal in my growth, as I trained at Sugar Creek Golf and Tennis with Coach Coxton. Working with him, especially during our private sessions, was transformative. Coach Coxton helped me break some persistent habits that were holding back my form, and he spent countless hours honing my strokes and sharpening my techniques. His dedication extended beyond camp hours, and I’m deeply grateful for the time and attention he invested in helping me develop a more disciplined approach to the game.

During the 2023-2024 school year, I also had the privilege of training under Erik Graves, who focused not only on my tennis skills but also on my overall athleticism. With his drills, I became faster, stronger, and more agile, reinforcing the well-rounded athletic foundation I strive to build. His expertise has been a major factor in my growth as both a tennis player and an athlete.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to pursue my education in college, where I hope to find a welcoming environment that values both academics and athletics. I am particularly interested in a college with a strong STEM program that encourages innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning. Just as important, I want to be part of a community that fosters a sense of belonging and support—qualities I’ve valued so much in my coaches and teammates. For me, college will be a rite of passage, an opportunity to grow in new ways, on and off the court, and to continue pursuing excellence in both my academic and athletic passions.
